The Season of Giving

December 11, 2019
Ronald McDonald House Charities special event

The boys and I were invited to a special event yesterday to celebrate the launch of Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC), which allows customers to donate to the charity by rounding-up their purchase to the nearest whole dollar.

At the event my boys were able to make holiday cards for children staying at the Ronald McDonald House Orange County and decorate cookies.

Ledger just wanted to be the greeter and wave to everyone. 🥰

For those who don’t know, RMHC helps families with ill or injured children stay together and near the medical care they need. They provide families with home-cooked meals, private bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens and laundry facilities, just steps away from the hospital so families can focus on the health of their child.

With each purchase at @mcdonalds you have the option to round up to the nearest dollar to donate to local RMHC’s. Even the smallest of donations can make such a big difference to families, spending time together in a ‘home-away-from-home’.

To highlight how each donation benefits RMHC families, McDonald’s is unveiling a new “Menu of Moments”. Priceless moments are made possible with the help of McDonald’s customers when they choose to Round-Up for RMHC and keep families together when they need each other most. Even the smallest of donations can make such a big difference to families, spending time together in a ‘home-away-from-home’.

Imagine:
Ninety-two cents: can help allow a parent to read a bedtime story to their sick child
Forty-two cents: can help provide 10-minutes for a family to sing together
Twenty-one cents: can help ensure five minutes of laughter with the entire family

For families with children receiving medical treatment, it’s those moments, those minutes, those nights with each other that give them the strength and support they need.

So this holiday season, consider rounding up your next order from McDonald's to help make these little moments possible.

Have a safe and happy holiday season!

The Magical Chinese Lantern Festival

December 5, 2019

We had such an incredible kick off to the holiday season attending the opening night of The Chinese Lantern Festival this past week. I can’t even begin to tell you how incredible the light displays are, you truly have to see them in person. Here are a few of our favorites from the festival.

I am always looking for fun and creative ways to educate, inspire and entertain my boys. This event features mythical creature rides for the kids, food and concessions, authentic live Chinese folk music, Holiday displays and Folk art souvenir booths.  Education, beautiful art pieces and lots of family fun packed into one night.

The music and entertainment is beautiful and peaceful and the 100 yard long Ceramic Chinese Dragon was breathtaking. A major highlight was the mythical creatures that the kids can ride on. My boys were beyond thrilled to ride these amazing creatures and even little Ledger tried one with big brother Link.

Look closely at Ledger's face in this photo... 😂

It was a magical night for all of us and there is so much to see and enjoy. I have many more moments than I can share, so I am working on a youtube video to capture all of the beautiful sites we enjoyed together as a family.

The Magical Chinese Lantern Festival will Light the Night at the Pomona Fairplex from November 21st - January 5th including holidays. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate at www.ChineseLanternFestival.com. From the moment we drove in we were awestruck, so we highly recommend this event for a magical night out if you are in the SoCal area.

We shared more of the magic the boys’ experienced on our instagram page and our video will be coming soon on our youtube channel.

Happy Birthday Mickey and Minnie!

I love this moment between Linkin and Mickey Mouse! They had an instant connection. 😉

Happy Birthday to our favorites. We love you Mickey & Minnie! Thank you for the magical moments you have given our family with the JOY you bring. ❤️ 🏰

Just a few magical moment flashbacks of our Disney loving family!

 My little Luke

You can't tell in this picture, but our happy little Ledger is wearing his Mickey beanie.

Landon meeting Mickey for the first time at 11 months old.
I am pregnant with our little surprise, baby Link.

Little Landon surrounded by Mickey's and Minnie's.

Loved Minnie's aviator outfit. We saw her dressed like this near Soaring in California Adventure's.

 Little Luke's first Disney trip!

Luke's first birthday was Fireman Mickey. If you ask him today (he is 5 years old) he will tell you he wants to be a Fireman when he grows up. Did we nail this one or what? Lol

Here's to being young at heart and enjoying every magical moment with our kids
before they grow up in the blink of an eye.

The Swan Princess 25th Anniversary

November 13, 2019
We were excited to be invited to a special screening of the Swan Princess for the 25th anniversary. It was a fun-filled evening of activities that ended with a movie in the park at Echo Park Lake.

We were given a Swan Princess backpack when we arrived and it was filled with so many cute goodies. The Swan Princess blanket was super soft and perfect for cuddling my boys during the movie. They had a special VIP section and we were able to lay out our blanket early to save a spot right up front.

The boys really enjoyed all the activities at this fun event. There was face painting and balloon twisting from Happily Ever Laughter Parties. They also got to do Archery with Sheroes Entertainment

After that we got to take a complimentary swan boat ride provided by Wheel Fun Rentals around Echo Park Lake. Landon and Linkin wanted to be the ones up front to paddle the boat. Of course they headed straight for the beautiful fountain in the middle of the lake which sprayed us with water like we were running through sprinklers. Thankfully their face paint held up pretty well or we would have had some red, black and green smeared faces. Lol

We were given tickets to order food from Grilled Cheese Truck LA and it was really good. I had never heard about them before, but have to say now I know why they are so well known. We had the grilled Mac and cheese sandwich and it was delicious.

Then it was time to make our way back to our blanket and get ready for the movie. The boys stopped by the park for a few minutes to play with their dad while I let our little Ledger run around on the grass by the giant movie screen. We were given yummy caramel corn to enjoy while watching The Swan Princess. Producer Seldon Young introduced The Swan Princess for the special 25th Anniversary screening at Echo Park Lake. Some fun facts about The Swan Princess which originally came out in 1994. It took 350 artists 4 years to recreate the movie and included 600,000 hand drawn and hand painted sketches.

It was a super cute movie and I am so glad we had this opportunity to experience it together in such a fun family setting. If anyone hasn't seen The Swan Princess, we enjoyed it and would recommend it. Very cute characters and so special to see it remastered 25 years later with my boys.

Have you seen The Swan Princess movie or every watched a movie in the park before? Leave us a comment and let us know.
Until next time... we will be finding the magic in every day and hope you do too!
