MONSTER JAM

January 13, 2020
This past weekend we were invited to attend Monster Jam at Angel Stadium Anaheim. It was our first time ever attending a Monster Jam event and let me tell you, it was a fantastic time for our whole family. Let me tell you why...

But first, heading into Monster Jam at Angel Stadium we had to stop for a quick photo op with Mickey Mouse.

First up was the Monster Jam® Pit Party. We got to see the massive trucks up close, meet the drivers, get autographs, take pictures and more. It’s an unforgettable part of the Monster Jam experience. Here are some highlights from the Pit Party...

Seeing the dirt bike stunts up close was AWESOME!

My boys and I got our hair colored in the Great Clips hair station at the Pit Party. The boys also got balloons and coloring sheets at a table near by the exit of the Pit Party. They had a blast sword fighting in the parking.

After seeing all the trucks up close, we each chose a favorite to be the
winner of Monster Jam.  Here were our choices:
Brian (dad) & Ledger: Stone Crusher
Tiffany (mom): Monster Mutt
Landon: Dragon
Linkin: Black Pearl
Luke: Avenger

Now onto the main event... MONSTER JAM!  It is an action-packed experience for the whole family featuring a mix of high-flying action and four-wheel excitement.  The 12,000-pound trucks and the world-class athletes who drive them tear up the dirt with gravity-defying feats. They push the limits in Freestyle, 2 Wheel Skills Challenge™ and Racing competitions. It was a night full of unbelievable action and unexpected thrills. We were truly on the edge of our seats during this jam packed event.

Monster Jam drivers are trained, world-class male and female athletes who have mastered not only the physical strength and mental stamina needed to compete, but the vital dexterity to control 12,000-pound machines capable of doing backflips, vertical two-wheel skills and racing at speeds up to 70 miles per hour to produce jaw-dropping, live motor sports action seen around the world. Plus, we were able to be part of the action by voting for the winner in the two-wheel and freestyle competitions on our phones.
My boys loved getting to be the judges after each driver completed their stunts.

Luke's favorite ended up being the WINNER of MONSTER JAM! Way to go AVENGER!

Here are some tips to make the most of your day.

*During the Pit Party there are activities for the kids, so plan ahead with a little extra cash for things like the inflatable slide, building a wooden car, riding in Grave Digger and of course to enjoy the delicious food truck options.

*There is also a little dirt pile for the kids to play with their Monster Truck toys if you bring yours from home or purchase them at one of the stands.

*Bring jackets and blankets to stay warm. The event goes into the night so a blanket to bundle up in will keep everyone warm and comfy to enjoy the whole event.

*We also brought noise reducing earmuffs for each of the boys, but they didn't seem to mind the noise and only wore them part of the time. Maybe because it was an open stadium, but still good to have on hand just in case.

*There are a ton of food trucks during the Pit Party and lots of tasty options inside the stadium. We enjoyed pizza, drinks, cotton candy, churros and popcorn.

*A money saving tip is to bring some drinks and snacks in your car and you can go back there after the Pit Party to fuel up and rest before the Main Event. We went to the car so I could nurse my little guy and let him get a nap in before the show started.

*In between the Pit Party and the main event, people were tailgating at their cars with music, remote control monster trucks and more. So bring your folding chairs and keep the party going with other Monster Truck fans in between the two events.

It was a full day of non stop fun and ended with this moment of Linkin and daddy that I had to capture before we left. I hope you all get a chance to experience Monster Jam with your family. We definitely can't wait to go back again!
